How the numbers are worked out
- It assumes you give notice on the last day of the month you pick. Notice starts the next month. You’re out when it ends, or when the lock-in ends if that’s later.
- The cost of leaving is what you still pay after giving notice: the fees until you’re out, the rest of the year (or quarter) if the draft says you pay for all of it, and any exit fee.
- “% of fees left” is worked out on the months you haven’t paid for yet. “Months of fees” uses the monthly fee at the time you leave.
- The yearly increase applies from the start of each contract year.
- If the notice period or lock-in runs past the end of the contract, the contract just ends on time and there’s no exit fee.
- It doesn’t count set-up fees, discount clawbacks or the cost of switching to someone else.
- What you type stays on your device. It isn’t sent to me or anyone else.
