How the numbers are worked out
- It treats a month as 30 days, and assumes the claim arises on the last day of the month you pick.
- “At the start” means each invoice goes out on the first day of the month, quarter or year it covers. “At the end” means the last day. Each invoice is paid the number of days you set after it goes out.
- “Fees paid” only counts money that has actually been paid. “Fees paid or payable” also counts invoices that have gone out but aren’t paid yet.
- “Counting back” is the period the cap looks at, such as the 12 months before the claim.
- The yearly increase applies from the start of each contract year.
- It doesn’t cover caps that earlier claims have used up, separate caps for certain claims, or anything left out of the cap.
- What you type stays on your device. It isn’t sent to me or anyone else.
